Our story... I run the "back end" of the business. I'm responsible for paying the bills, advertising, accounting, paperwork, and general worrying. I do all this wonderful stuff from Vancouver so we might meet through email, telephone or a credit card transaction. The "ladies" (you'll see them in the garden, laundry room, sheds, etc.) are responsible for keeping the place spic and span. How did Woods End Landing come to be? We discovered this beautiful spot purely by chance. In 1988 we were on the ferry, on our way to Campbell River, when someone on the car deck mentioned what a fabulous time he had in this small seaside village called Bamfield. Terry made note of the village's name and the fellow's sketchy directions and away we went, off on what we thought was a "little detour" from our holiday plans. Well it was love at first sight - a beautiful setting, friendly people, fishing and water activities for Terry, and lots of beaches and trails for me to explore. We ignored our well-thought-out plans and spent most of that holiday in Bamfield. Within 6 weeks of returning home, we had sold our house, packed our bags and moved here. The long-term plan was to build cottages and live here happily ever after. Most of the plan materialized. It took seven years to renovate the existing house and build the four cottages as well as the service buildings on the property. Ever since setting our eyes on this village of Bamfield and its breathtaking surroundings we have enjoyed many happy times.
